Lisa Vogt's **Gentle Computer Consulting**
I love helping people make sense of computers for the first time. I travel to my clients and help them understand the system they already have set up, whether it is Mac or PC, new or old, high-speed or dial-up internet.
For $50 per hour, I will work with you to gain computer literacy. I give step-by-step instruction, have clients repeat skills many times, and add variation and complexity only as soon as they can handle it. Part of learning about computers is having the chance to interact with them in ways that are not intimidating. I will answer your questions, no matter how small, and work to explain complicated ideas in terms & metaphors that are familiar to you from everyday life.
Together, we will build your understanding and expertise to master the skills you need, whether you want to start using e-mail, share family photos, or create complex, professional documents. As we work, I will practice my "hands off" policy, where I never ask you to "move over!" because I think you're going too slowly. I will be a guide at your side, explaining and coaching, while you stay in control over the computer so that you are doing everything yourself. We will progress at your pace, and we will be sure to explore your interests as we go, so that you can see the usefulness of computers.
